We bridge the gap between high school and college by helping students to:

  • Understand the disability laws in college and how they differ from high school,
  • Discuss the impact of the disability laws on the services and accommodations available to them in college,
  • Identify accommodations that are working for the student in high school and will help in college,
  • Advocate for accommodations on standardized tests, if needed,
  • Identify colleges that offer the support and accommodations they need,
  • Coach them on how to conduct a meeting with the disabilities office,
  • Teach them to self-advocate,
  • Evaluate assistive technologies that may be of help, and
  • Identify all on-campus and other resources at the college they ultimately choose.

“If you have kids who are struggling with dyslexia, the greatest gift you can give them is the sense that nothing is unattainable. With dyslexia comes a very great gift, which is the way that your mind can think creatively.”
